The Clover Garden Charter School Band Program began in 2001, the same year as the school’s grand opening. The school began as a K-8 school with approximately 275 students enrolled. The school added one grade level per year. In 2006, the school graduated its first Senior class.

While the school grew, the band program grew along with it. The band program has grown to encompass students from grades 6-12. Along with 3 band classes, the program also includes percussion ensemble, jazz band, and marching band. The “Marching Grizzlies” have seen success throughout its years as a competing group. The band presented shows around themes such as “Grease”, “Tribute to Stevie Wonder”, and “Hope”. Most recently, the band performed the show “American Rhythm”. The band has received many awards and honors over the years for their success in performance. Most recently, a First Place in Class 2A award was presented to the band at the 2019 Southeast Guilford High School Falcon Invitational. The band also searches for opportunities to perform for community events. Most recently, the band performed in the 2019 Walk to End Alzheimers in Burlington, NC. They also bring their sound to many Christmas parades in the Alamance County area. The jazz band has participated in the annual Mebane Christmas Tree Lighting, and provided music for attendees at the 2019 Alamance Regional “Snowflake Walk” to honor those who have been affected by cancer.

Along with competing, the band enjoys traveling to many destinations to perform. In recent years, the marching band has traveled to New York, Disneyworld, and Atlanta, Georgia. The jazz band has also traveled to Dollywood.

Above all, the Clover Garden School band program is a family that supports each other as students, as individuals, and as a performing group across all grade levels.
